Dating

I have dated more in the last month than I probably have all of my 40s. Why now?  I think I finally learned how to have a lightness toward relationships.  I am not expecting anything from dating except to meet some new men.  There is no pressure to figure "it" out in the first few minutes of meeting someone.

And what is "it"?  "It" is basically a series of questions like "Is this someone I like?" "Is this someone I want to be around?"  "Is this guy going to disappointment me?" "'Is he going to hurt me?"  "Is I am going to fall in love with him?"  It is a lot for the first few minutes for anyone person or a guy.

However, I learned how to suspend that part of me and just be here in the moment.  It is freeing!  And dating is actually fun.

A Silhouette Project

Back in December 2012, I started making my silhouettes. They are a direct result of my 30 days of self portraits. If I had't done those sketches, I would have never had the courage to try silhouettes. I know it sounds strange but silhouettes scared me. I didn't know how to do them, I was afraid to just play to see if it was something I could do. This is a silhouette of the demon dogs, my Celine bag and me. I am will be spending the next year or longer making these them. I hope to have a gallery show and have some success with them. Let's see where this all goes.

Buy the Bag Loot

Yesterday with my $5 Power Hour ticket, I went to Housing Works Buy the Bag Warehouse sale.

* Two 80s style sweaters. One had faux fur and beads and the other just had beads. Embellishments easily removed.
* One Leather Longchamp Handbag
* One giant Timbuk2 Messenger Bag
* One vintage bed sheet to be up cycled into a summer dress
* One Striped Cashmere Cardigan
* One Turquoise ECHO silk scarf
* One 80s style silk blouse
* One crazy faux fur hat
* One Blue and Gold Infinity Scarf

All this for one power hour ticket + $25 buy the bag fee + $10 car service there because it was too damn cold to bike there. I think I did pretty good ... Everything is in pristine condition especially the Longchamp handbag.

Bowl of fruit was not purchased at the event.

Bag Fast Is Over

The goal for 2011 was to save up enough money (by not purchasing any bags) to get a Goyard Bag.

Sometime in June, I found a Goyard Bag at a local thrift store. I fondled it and thought it was either the real deal or a very good fake. I decided to break the bag fast. I made it through about 6 months before I broke and bought this $16 Goyard Bag.

As we enter 2012, I am still not sure if it is a real Goyard. A few people have declared that it is most likely is. More importantly, o was real enough for me to satisfy my goal of a Goyard Bag. And thankfully, the purchase didn't end the root of my resolve - No Bags in 2011.

Break in Bag Fast

I made through 6 months without purchasing one single bag. Today. I bought a bag for one of my dogs. It felt weird to have a new bag. Ursula is gonna love it. Thank you Joan at PS9.

Happy Pride

While I don't think G*D Hates Bags, I know he loves people who take hate and twists it around to funny. I would totally get this bag if not for the bag fast. Don't let that stop you, buy one here.

And yeah, New York politicians for doing the right thing.
