Ebay Bargin

I paid like $10 plus shipping for this bag. I never looked at the dimensions of it. I just like the tapestry in the middle. I was going through some type of obsession. I fell in love with the bag when it arrived. I receive compliments all the time from so many people.

A Bag for Beer, Burgers & Bowling

Well, the bowling didn't happen last night because the wait was too long.  However, there was beer and burgers to go with the silver lady's pride circa 1970s.

I HEART my accountant

Yup, it is laundry day.

Yesterday I was chatting with Ron, my accountant, about bags.  He was amazed at how sturdy the mexican plastic shopping bags are.  There were the bags we used to bring him the audit binders.  He then transferred them to LL Beam Boat & Tote bags to carry to the audit.
I HEART Ron because of this and all the other conversations we have had.

Animal Magnetism

Feeling a little frisky today with my Adrienne Vittadini Bamboo handles, faux snake skin sides and faux leopard skin.  Today was a sunny day so I broke out the big sunglasses.

Vintage Blue Shiny Tote

Isn't it perfect for a rainy day?

This is recent ebay purchase was to go with my new fancy Michael Kors (Oh, I love Project Runway) dress.  However the color was a little off and decided I would prefer a more eveningish bag.

I love the color.

Muji Tote Bag

Today's bag is the black Muji tote bag I purchased at the grand opening of the first Muji store in the States.  It is a simple bag that I could use on the weekends and Fridays to carry the essentials but not much more.

This is the start of a simple project to document the bag selected from my large collection and the items carried that bag.

Monogram Bag

Ah, my love for yellow continues with this recent purchase.

I remember this bag from my days of after-school retail at Hess Department Store. Didn't think the style was very interesting back then but some twenty years later, I have to have it. I tried to bargain with the little Bedford Avenue Street Vendor but she wouldn't budge. She wanted $8. I pulled out $7 thinking that she would take it when she saw the money. She wanted $8 and was willing to wait. I walked away but I couldn't resist the call of the bright yellow Liz Claiborne monogram bag. I went back and gave her the $8.

It was worth the extra dollar.

Sometimes Taking Photo is Better than Making a Purchase

Over the weekend, I saw this gorgeous fall bag for sale on street. It spoke to me in its texture and colors. However the price was a bit more than I wanted to spend so I took a picture. Actually, I took three pictures. Now reflecting back on the bag, I made the right choice. It is a great bag but not for every day given what I carry each day and not unique enough for the collection. And as my friend said, sometimes taking a photo is better that purchasing.

Letting Go

I have been collecting these bags for nearly a decade...and now it is time to share them for a small fee.

These bags are what I have consider to be a perfect bag. More on that another time.

I love my walk from the subway to my office because you never know what you will see. Today it was this lovely evening bag on someone's stoop.

Trip to Jersey Shore in Bags

Tilt your computer 90 degrees to view this photo at the proper angle.

Return your computer to its original position.

I have recently taken to aspiring to being the perfect packer. What is the perfect packer? It is someone who packs just the right combination of clothing, accessories and bags for every occasion on that trip. It also means that you don't overpack by bringing 5 pairs of shoes for an overnight trip or bringing only black clothing. However there is nothing wrong with either overpacking with shoes or too much black. Once I went to an Art Conference in Sheboygan Wisconsin and packing all black helped to identify myself as part of the New York Art Crowd.

Of course the first step to being a perfect packer is to pick the best bags for the trip.

Last weekend, I went to the Jersey Shore and managed first to pick the most perfect weekend bag for this trip. I also managed to incorporate a fine beach bag/travel bag.
